We will not be leaving our current space, just adding a sister-shop a few blocks to the east.
Our current space is under 500 sq/ft, but in a great location for light rail traffic, foot traffic and helps fill a niche in the way a downtown business should, But being in the heart of development of such a large city has its drawbacks, commercial space is hard to come by, and we love our location.
Logistically, our shop is hard to keep up. Its too small to keep stay fully stocked, while also being too small to host workshops and classes, realistically. Our new space will be twice as large inside and also will have a large shaded patio!
We're currently part of a restoration project in the next neighborhood over, Garfield Historic District. The Building being restored is on a former street car line on Pierce and 10th street just a few blocks from Downtown, the light rail, bus lines and a 10 minute walk from ASU Downtown and UA medical campus.
The Building we're going to occupy was built in 1928 and was originally a pharmacy. with with very tall ceilings covered in the original pressed tin. The Building exterior is covered in large awnings, with exposed brick and concrete.
